The luxury automotive world treats customization as a discipline. Manufacturers have spent decades building Paint to Sample, Manufaktur, BMW Individual, and Sonderwunsch — entire ateliers reserved for buyers unwilling to settle for the showroom shade.
The buyer, however, is asked to commit at the worst possible moment: standing in a dealership, examining a two-inch laminated chip, with a salesperson watching the clock. A six-figure decision deserves more than that.
We founded Spec’D because the gap between how the factories build and how customers experience the buying process had grown untenable. Someone needed to bridge the two — to give the buyer the time, the materials, and the autonomy that a build of this caliber demands.
