About Spec'd Motorsports

For the enthusiast who
builds with intention.

You are not just buying a car. You are composing one. Spec'D exists for collectors, first-time custom buyers, and detail obsessives who want confidence before committing a permanent specification.

A direct-to-customer sample atelier

Spec'd exists because the most consequential decision in a six-figure build should not be made from a screen or under showroom lights.

We started Spec'd to solve a simple problem - not being able to see the available colors we wanted while speccing our dream cars.

Configurators are extraordinary tools. They render every angle, every wheel, every interior pairing. What they cannot do — what no screen or online photo will ever do — is reveal how a color breathes at golden hour against the limestone of your driveway.

They cannot tell you whether full-grain leather feels right beneath your hand. They cannot tell you whether a Paint to Sample green reads as art or as regret in the light of your own garage. We deliver those answers to your door.

What we do

OEM-Accurate samples, assembled around your build.

Spec’D Motorsports delivers factory accurate paint, leather, and Alcantara samples to enthusiasts and collectors configuring their next luxury car. Every sample is sourced from certified suppliers — guaranteeing authenticity, factory-correct color, and an exact match to the materials that will appear on your finished build.

Not catalog prints. Not approximations. The materials themselves, in your hands, on your terms.

You select the colors and finishes under consideration. We assemble your kit. It arrives in a curated case within one to two weeks. You study it under your light, against your wardrobe, in your garage. You decide.

why we do it

The factories build for connoisseurs. The buying process should to.

The luxury automotive world treats customization as a discipline. Manufacturers have spent decades building Paint to Sample, Manufaktur, BMW Individual, and Sonderwunsch — entire ateliers reserved for buyers unwilling to settle for the showroom shade.

The buyer, however, is asked to commit at the worst possible moment: standing in a dealership, examining a two-inch laminated chip, with a salesperson watching the clock. A six-figure decision deserves more than that.

We founded Spec’D because the gap between how the factories build and how customers experience the buying process had grown untenable. Someone needed to bridge the two — to give the buyer the time, the materials, and the autonomy that a build of this caliber demands.

Who Spec'd IS FOR

Built for buyers who treat the order sheet like a canvas.

The collector

Every detail correct the first time.

Adding a build that will live in the garage for decades. Wants every detail correct the first time, because there is no second time.
First Time Buyer

Confidence to commit to the bolder spec.

Configuring a dream car for the first time and seeking the confidence to choose the spec that feels personal, not merely safe.
Connoisseur of Detail

A great spec is in the details.

Cares about every detail of the build. Understands that color, material, and finish work together.
Patient Buyer

No compromise under showroom pressure.

Will wait the build window and refuses to compromise on a six-figure decision made under fluorescent showroom lights.
Who we are

Created by enthusiasts who have stood in the same gap.

Spec’D Motorsports is the work of two co-creators who spent years standing in showrooms across the country, encountering the same problem: the most personal part of the build was still being decided with too little time, too little material, and too much guesswork.

Chad Cavallaro - Co-Founder

Chad’s passion began early, watching his father build Mustangs and Camaros in the garage. What took root was not only a love of engines, but the belief that a car is a piece of art you happen to drive.

After years of studying configurator renders, holding two-inch laminated chips against dealership bodywork, and watching careful buyers settle for the safe spec, Spec’D became the company he wished existed when building his own cars.

Andrew Buckley - Co-Founder

Andrew’s love for cars began in the back of his dad’s Supra, then deepened after riding in an E46 330Ci as a teenager. The precision, proportions, angel eyes, inline six, and heritage of early 2000s BMWs made the dream specific.

After owning multiple BMWs and sports cars, the same challenge kept appearing: not being able to see the full color palette in person before speccing the dream car. Spec’D was built to make that decision tangible.
